Parakeet Food – Seeds, Vegetables and Fruits
Learn What type of Food, Vegetables and Seed are good for Budgies (parakeet). I’ve six parakeets at home and at first I was very confused what to feed them. Initially I restricted the food to only mix seeds and coriander but later realized that they need other food items for nutrition. Then from there I have managed to change their diet with vegetables and fruits. If you’re confused about what to feed your parakeet then this list will help you.
I have made list of seeds, fruits and vegetables which are considered safe for parakeets. You can verify the list by checking it against the items suggested by vet. I came across plenty of pet shop owners who advice their customers on feeding only bird seeds to parakeets. This is wrong advice for two reasons – too much bird seeds cause obesity in birds, and second they also need other nutritional food.
