Size of Danio Fish: Except the giant danio fish you’ll find that all of the other types have size of about 4-5cms in length.
ph and temperature: You’ve to maintain ph of about 6.0 to 8.0 in aquarium for danio fish. Also suggested temperature for them is 23 to 27 degree Celsius.
Breeding: You can setup breeding environment for them by placing marbles or some java moss inside the tank, this will allow female Danio to lay eggs and to guard them. Ensure that you supply regular live food to them and there is not much you’ve to take care of them. You can place the marbles or java moss near aquarium plants as many times pair prefers place near plant. Being careless parent danio fishes don’t guard much about their fry and sometimes even eat the eggs, so don’t bother about that and just leave the fry on their own life if they survive better else don’t bother.
Food: Danios are natural insectivores and they’re not much choosy about the food they take. So you can either give them flake food, frozen food or regular live food. Depending on the food intake their color also changes. Regular live food like mosquito larvae or bloodworm is enough for them and their color changes as well when the intake of livefood increases.
Characteristic and Behavior: Danio fishes are known for their peaceful nature and that is why many aquarium vendors suggest to beginner aquarium maintainers. Danio fishes don’t care or bother for presence of any other fish in the tank. You can mix them with any other type of fishes like guppy, tetra, catfish etc. Avoid placing them in the tank where you’ve large size fish or fish like convict cichlids, angelfish.
